With the entry into force of Decree-Law 28/2019, invoices and other fiscally relevant documents that are presented in paper format can be scanned and archived in electronic format.

It is necessary to ensure that digitization and digital archiving operations are carried out with the technical strictness necessary to obtain and reproduce legible images of the original documents, without loss of resolution and information, in order to guarantee their consultation and reproduction on paper or other supported electronic aplications.

For tax purposes, complete reproductions on paper, obtained from archives in electronic format, have the probative value of the original documents.
